Samsung's planned launch timeline for One UI 8 emerges, hinting at potential Android 16 updates for various Galaxy devices
Samsung Announces One UI 8 Update Schedule for Various Galaxy Devices
Samsung has unveiled a schedule for the rollout of the One UI 8 update and Android 16 on several Galaxy devices. The schedule, which primarily focuses on the Asian market, includes updates for smartwatches and smartphones.
Starting with the Galaxy Watch series, the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 6, Watch 7, Watch FE, Watch 4 Classic, Watch 6 Classic, and Watch 5 Pro are all scheduled to receive the One UI 8 update on October 1 or November 3. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro will get the update on November 3, while the Watch 4 Classic will follow suit on November 3.
In the smartphone category, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25+, S25, S25 Edge, S24 Ultra, S24+, S24 FE, S24, A56 5G, and A36 5G are expected to receive the One UI 8 update on September 25. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, S23 FE, S23, S22 Ultra, S22+, S22, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, A55 5G, A54 5G, A52s 5G, A25 5G, A23 5G, Tab Active 5 5G, Tab Active 5, M34 5G, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+, Tab S9, Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S8+, Tab S8, Tab S6 Lite, XCover 7, XCover 6 Pro, M33 5G, M15 5G, A53 5G, A35 5G, A34 5G, A33 5G, Tab A9, Tab Active 5 Pro 5G, XCover 7 Pro, and Tab S9 are expected to receive the update at various dates in October and November.
Notably, some oddities appear in the schedule. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are scheduled to receive the One UI 8 update after the Galaxy S23 series, and the Galaxy S21 FE is slated to be updated before the S22 series.
Lastly, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 5G, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10+ 5G, Tab S10+, and Tab S9 are expected to receive the One UI 8 update on October 23. Samsung is also planning One UI 8 updates for various Galaxy Watch models, with further details to be announced at a later date.
